Kawazu-zakura, the particular variety of sakura that proliferates around Miura-kaigan on the Kanagawa Prefecture coast, flower earlier than most other varieties of cherry, so they should be in full bloom in late February.
More than 1,000 Kawazu-sakura line the road from Miura-kaigan station to Komatsugaike Park.

How to get there
The cherry blossom festival has easy access via train on the Keikyu Line. It’s only a 10-minute walk from Miurakaigan Station and costs ¥1,050 from Shimbashi Station, taking around 1.5 hours.
Cheapo tip: Get a Keikyu discount ticket and explore more of the peninsula for less.
