Tokyo Tower’s annual koinobori (carp, or koi fish, streamers) event sees over three hundred fishes flapping in the wind for Children’s Day.
What happens?
Exactly 333 colorful carp streamers will be hung around the iconic Tokyo Tower, making for vivid and eye-catching photos. You may ask, Why 333? That’s because the tower is exactly 333 meters high, and all good things come in threes.
For 2023, 40 streamers will have a special Sesame Street makeover, along with a pop-up shop and truck. See if you can spot Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Julia.
